Friday United Arts Curriculum Extension

The United Arts Curriculum Extension offering on Friday afternoon is an exciting addition to the North Oakview week. The Fourth Grade students were able to learn about paper making and the Third Grade students are creating Pop Ups. It is thrilling to see the creative enthusiasm and problem solving taking place.

ArtPrize

Students from the 3rd, 4th and Deaf and Hard of Hearing classes attended ArtPrize's ARTcation Day, Monday, September 27. The weather was fabulous and the Art was EVERYWHERE! Can't wait until next year!

There is much to celebrate! It is National Art Education Week! Locally, we are gearing up for Grand Rapids ArtPrize.

New School Year in the Art Room

         This is an especially exciting new school year. The Elementary Art program has been expanded so each school will have its own Art Specialist. I am looking forward to being at North Oakview everyday, but I will miss the wonderful students at East Oakview and West Oakview.

      Students, 1st- 4th, will have Art once a week for 60 minutes and our Kindergartners will have 45 minute classes. We will be exploring more, looking more and creating more art in many different ways.

      I will continue to post student artwork on Artsonia.com. Check it out! New students will be added and notes will be sent home in a few weeks with the student information and parent security codes.
